In August 2023, Lisa Metcalfe cleaned out her barn—38 years of accumulated fashion treasures. She rented a space in Rhinebeck, NY, and enlisted her then-college-aged daughter to design a 90’s-themed flyer to promote a pop-up sale. With borrowed racks and creative merchandising, the event drew in a crowd, charmed by both the product and its stories, evoking the old-school Barney’s warehouse sale vibe.

What started as a simple clear-out has since evolved into a thriving business, with loyal shoppers becoming consignors and fueling a sustainable, circular fashion community.

Lisa now “pops up” only when she’s curated a truly exceptional haul. After decades in the industry, she knows this approach is the future of fashion—sharing past lives with new people through beautiful, well-cared-for pieces ready for a second (or third) chapter.
