Working across jewelry, painting, and home, Brady approaches each item from the perspective of an artist. In a world of mass production, his work is produced in limited quantities and handcrafted in New York by skilled artisans, where craftsmanship is handed down through generations.
Ac Magazine recently sat down with the designer/artist to learn more about his journey.
Your work is rooted in emotion in a way that feels deeply personal, yet universally resonant. When did you first realize that art could be a language for you?
When I was 14, my dad was diagnosed with a rare cancer. As he started going through treatment, he wasn’t able to leave the house much, so to pass the time, we started painting and drawing together. Back then, all I knew was that I wanted to spend as much time with my dad as I could. But what I came to realize over time was that art could become something so much more for me. It had the power to hold emotion in a way words sometimes can’t. It also taught me that the things we create from the most personal places are often the things that other people connect to the most. Thankfully, my dad is here today and now works alongside me in the business, which makes those memories even more special.
